What kind of information do we collect?

Citymart collects information from its users (name, work email, job title, department, etc.) as required to establish individual accounts. We also record users’ activity and preferences through cookies or other tools. We store and analyze the content users enter for each project, such as resources allocated, measures of success, stakeholders, project milestones, etc. We may also ask users for feedback or to complete surveys.

What do we do with the information we collect?

Citymart uses the collected information to operate the platform, to prevent and detect fraud and abuse and to protect other users. We might also carry out analysis to improve the platform and send you information about other Citymart activities.

Who else has access to your information?

The value of Citymart is the visibility it provides to municipal workers of the projects and opportunities that exist within their city as well as related projects shared by municipal employees in other cities. Thus, while you can share your Opportunity Statements with colleagues in your city or elsewhere they are never exposed to the general public. Only registered accounts for cities that have contracted with Citymart are established on the system.

If you or your city choose to share your statements, Citymart is not responsible for the protection or security of the information exposed to other registered users, either within your organization or in other cities.

Citymart may use project information in a “blurred” or unattributed form to create exemplars that users can draw on when conducting research or structuring projects and proposals.

Citymart may share your information with companies who help us to operate the platform. Some of them may process your information in countries outside the EU, such as the United States of America, where data protection laws are not the same as in the EU. We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect or defend ourselves or others against illegal or harmful activities, or as part of a reorganization or restructuring.

Security & Privacy

Citymart complies with all relevant UK and EU Data Protection regulations and follows recognized best–practices for data security and encryption but users are responsible for all activity on their account and must contact us immediately if they are aware of any unauthorized use of their password or other security breach.

Citymart does not engage in advertising or marketing on behalf of third–parties, nor does it sell, lend, trade or otherwise expose your data to third–parties except to operate the service as described above.

Should your city discontinue use of the Citymart platform it will be able to download all the information its users have entered in an industry–standard format such as .csv.
